The MBDA sponsored annual Robot Rumble project has been designed to provide participating students with the following learning objectives:

• To develop an understanding of the application of the principles of design engineering, programming, maths and science.
• To learn and understand the behaviours (e.g. knowledge sharing, idea generation, communication, team working) needed to successfully work as a team.
• To develop and/or enhance personal “soft” skills thereby increasing personal confidence in the application of these through life skills. 
• To take maximum learning from the robot building experience.

Project success for the teams is measured by:

• Fielding a competitive robot at the Robot Rumble event
• Doing justice to the team and the work that the team has done to build the robot
• To enjoy the experience of working together as a team to deliver the project
